Today Phyllis and I met with our Personal Trainer, Punchnella (she is a professional boxer!). She evaluated us regarding our upper body range of motion. I was told that I have limited range of motion in my neck so she is going to give me some exercises to do for that. (All of my stress and tension seem to go into my neck and upper back, so this should be helpful). She also told me that I tend to hold my breath when I am under a strain (true). Breathing deeply has to become a habit and not just when we are working out. Our homework assignment is to keep a Food Intake Journal listing what we eat, how much and time of day. We are also to note how much water we drink, and how much sleep we get.
Next session will deal with evaluating our lower body range of motion, assessing our food intake.
I realized why I've never enjoyed running...... I don't breathe!!
